Brand Identity

Scout West is a brand born from family history and the spirit of the Southwest. My brother and I collaborated to create a brand identity that honors our dad’s legacy. Named after his 1976 International Harvester Scout II — a remaining symbol of his grit and craftmanship after his passing when we were 13 — the brand serves as a bridge between rugged utility and modern design. It’s a visual tribute to the tools that last and the stories they carry.

The Heritage Icon

The central mark is a custom illustration of my dad’s vintage International Scout II. A tribute to the grit he embodied, serving as a “North Star” for the brand.

A “Found” Palette

The Scout West palette is an exercise in “found” color, where every hue is pulled from the physical objects and landscapes that define the brand, maintaining a raw, authentic connection to its origins.
